Hello chickadees!
The story of the greatest thing ever made is a tale wrought with highs and lows, sorrow and triumph. It begins with elation, crashes into depression, and arises somewhere in the middle. This is the story of my hair.
I have been on the hunt for years for the PERFECT hair care product at the drugstore. I have naturally curly hair, but without assistance it turns into a frizzy mess. Because my hair is so fine, all of the mousses, gels, and hairsprays I'd tried over the years made it crunchy and heavy. I had never found that happy medium of curly and light without tipping into crunchy and laden with product.
Then, in the last semester of my senior year, I decided to try a product that was not marketed for curls. It was part of Fx's Moroccan Moisture line. I first tried the Miracle Cream, but found the application too uneven. I then discovered at Walgreens a spray version, the Argan Oil Miracle Spray.
OH. MY. GOSH. This stuff is truly the greatest thing ever made. The even and light spray application leaves my curls defined and natural looking without being frizzy. I also believe it would be great for people with wavy or straight hair as well, because my hair feels soft and nourished. And for $5.99 at Walgreens, all the stars were aligned for me to have wonderful hair forever.
THEN DISASTER STRUCK. I went to pick up a new bottle at my normal Walgreens, and it wasn't there. The miracle cream was available, but not the spray. Thinking they were perhaps out of stock, I went to a different Walgreens. No luck. When I got home I looked at the Walgreens website, and was aghast to discover that not only was it not available online, but it was no longer being stocked at any Walgreens in my area.
So that brings me to today, the middle ground. I discovered two websites that carry this product. With shipping costs an individual bottle now costs around $10.00. To me, this product is worth the extra cost. I buy three bottles at a time so I can save on shipping, and each bottle comes out to around $7.75. For the greatest thing ever made, an extra $3 is allowing my hair to continue looking amazing.

Hello chickadees!
Before talking about all things of the beauty and fashion and the like, I figured it would be helpful to know what kind of face and body those beauty and fashion items would be going onto. And yes, I'm on a bit of a blog roll. JUST SO EXCITED, CANNOT BE CONTAINED.
HAIR: I have very fine medium length hair. When I say very fine, I mean like a baby. My ponytail is probably a third the size of yours. It's also very prone to breakage, so when I shower it looks like I've lost half my hair volume. It's really a mystery to me why I'm not bald. I wash my hair every other day, and it doesn't start getting oily until the night of the second day. My natural hair color is a dirty blonde/light brown. However, I'm currently in the midst of a woeful two year long saga with box dye. My hair is currently the orange remnant of a long-ago red dye, and it WILL NOT GO AWAY. I've tried everything, and have since resigned myself to letting it grow out. Graduation photos, orange hair. ID badge, orange hair. With any luck I'll be back to blonde by the birth of my first child in 10 years.
SKIN: I have extremely acne prone combination skin. My t-zone is oily, but my cheeks and chin can get quite dry (especially in the winter). I've been struggling with acne for many years, and as a result my current skin texture is a combination of unevenness, redness, acne scars, blackheads, and cystic acne. It's pretty much the most glorious thing ever gifted to mankind, this face. I also have some problems with acne on my shoulders and back, but it isn't as bad now as it has been in the past. My skin tends to be better in the summer than in the winter. I'm also hella pale ... as in florescent.
FEATURES: I'm not sure what bearing my facial features have on anything, but maybe it matters, I don't know. I have close set almond shaped eyes with very long eyelashes. As a result, I look for volumization in my mascara and have a hell of a time with creating winged eyeliner. My cheekbones are high, so I don't do a lot of contouring. My mouth is GIGANTIC, but I've accepted that it's going to dominate my face. My nose is pretty big, so I'm always looking for minimization.
BODY: I have a pear-ish, hourglass-ish body shape. My hips and boobs are pretty balanced, although I have a lot of junk in my trunk. My waist doesn't go in a whole lot, but I also don't carry my weight around the middle. I have abnormally long arms and legs in proportion to my torso as a result of a spinal abnormality (the bane of my existence is the knowledge that without that abnormality, I'd probably be around 5'9" or 5'10"). In clothing I look for something that will lengthen my torso and accentuate my waist. I also have flat feet, which effects the types of shoes that look good on me.
So that's me! As you can tell, I'm a huge weirdo. While my differences do make it difficult for me to find things that work, I have also found that there are people out there with the same problems. Band together, oddly shaped folks of the world!

Oh hi there! My name is Sam. I'm a recent college grad beginning my career as a registered nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit in the Midwest. YAAAAAAY!
To your average bear, this would mean stability in a shaky economy, and that's totally what it means to me too. Secondary to this, it means I have more money to spend on clothes, shoes, makeup, and hair care. It also means I work three 12 hour shifts a week, leaving four days a week to fill with whatever my little heart desires.
I've been a fan of blogs and beauty gurus for years. For almost as long I've been making videos and composing blog posts of my own ... just in my mind instead of on the internet. With my recent release from slogging through the continuous drudge of schoolwork, I finally have the time to make those imaginings a reality. So that's what I'm doing!
I'm excited to begin, and even if I'm the only person that ever reads it, the sheer creative effort will make it worthwhile. So jump aboard the blog machine! Let's frivolously spend money and talk about asinine things! FAVESIES!
